Plain, soft steamed broccoli florets gently mashed and mixed with ground lamb cooked without seasoning. A simple, nutrient-dense bowl designed for allergen-cautious feeding. The broccoli is steamed until tender and easy to mash with a fork, then folded together with crumbled lamb. No added fats, spices, or seasonings. This is straightforward fuel, easy on the gut, and perfect when you need a clean slate. The lamb stays mild and soft, the broccoli breaks down into something almost creamy. It looks humble, tastes honest, and keeps things simple.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb broccoli, cut into small florets
  • 12 oz ground lamb
  • for steaming water

Instructions

  1. Fill a medium pot with about 1 inch of water and bring to a boil over high heat. Place a steamer basket or insert inside.
  2. Add the broccoli florets (1 lb, cut into small florets) to the steamer basket. Cover and steam for 8 to 10 minutes, until the florets are very soft and a fork slides through easily.
  3. While the broccoli steams, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground lamb (12 oz) and break it up with a wooden spoon or spatula. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lamb is fully cooked through with no pink remaining and crumbled into small pieces.
  4. Transfer the steamed broccoli to a mixing bowl. Use a fork to gently mash the florets, breaking them down until they're soft and slightly chunky but not pureed.
  5. Add the cooked ground lamb to the bowl with the mashed broccoli. Fold together gently until evenly combined.
  6. Divide between bowls and serve warm.
