Ingredients
- 12 buns Soft slider buns (check labels for egg-free and nut-free varieties)
- 1 lb Sliced roast turkey breast, deli-sliced or leftover roast turkey (check deli labels for shared equipment warnings if needed)
- 12 slices Cheddar cheese slices (or dairy-free cheese slices for a non-dairy option)
- 3 tbsp Yellow mustard (or dairy-free spread of your choice)
- 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, melted (or dairy-free buttery spread)
- 1/4 tsp Garlic powder (optional, for brushing on buns)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice 12 slider buns in half horizontally using a serrated knife, keeping the tops and bottoms together as two large slabs if they came connected, or working with individual buns.
- Lay the bottom halves of the buns on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
- Spread a thin layer of 3 tbsp yellow mustard (or dairy-free spread) across all the bottom buns, dividing evenly.
- Layer 1 lb sliced roast turkey breast evenly over the mustard, folding slices to fit each bun.
- Place 12 slices cheddar cheese (or dairy-free cheese) on top of the turkey, one slice per slider.
- Set the top halves of the buns over the cheese layer.
- Melt 2 tbsp unsalted butter (or dairy-free spread) in a small bowl or measuring cup in the microwave, about 20 seconds. Stir in 1/4 tsp garlic powder if using.
- Brush the melted butter mixture over the tops of all the slider buns using a brush or the back of a spoon.
- Cover the baking sheet loosely with a sheet of aluminum foil.
- Bake for 8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the buns are warmed through and lightly golden on top.
- Remove from the oven, uncover, and let the sliders rest for 2 minutes before separating into individual portions if they were baked as a slab.
- Serve warm, or let cool completely and pack into lunchboxes.
